Community Futures staff and Board were happy to attend the ribbon cutting of the first Indigenous Expo held on July 21st at the North Hastings Community Centre. The event was organized by Kijicho Manito Madaouskarini Algonquin First Nation and supported by @Town of Bancroft TD bank and @communityfuturesbancroft . The event showcased over 100 booths where indigenous owned businesses showcased their products and services to expo attendees. The project also included vendor profiles on newly made Indigenous Expo website and showcasing booths via social media throughout the entire event. The CFDC Local Initiatives Fund provided funding to support the cost of the facility rental. The event was deemed a success with plans for a year 2 already in discussion!
