The N.H.N.P.H.C. owns and operates a low-income housing development in Bancroft, ON. They currently have 57 townhouse style units geared to families, singles and seniors. These units are rented at a price that is based on income and there is a mix of geared to income and market rent units. Occupancy is currently based on a referral basis through Hastings County, who manages the eligibility of potential renters and the associated waitlist. The organization is facing high demand for units and is exploring the feasibility of expansion. Housing shortages across our communities continues to be a top item of concern. Community Futures is able to support this project by providing $5,000 in funding through the Local Initiatives Program to assist with the costs of preparing the business model for a potential expansion.
