Volunteers have been working hard to plan and develop the next phase of trail development at the Eagles Nest Park located in Bancroft, ON. Their goal was to complete a new trail to the existing trail system that draws visitors from near and far. Visitors come to the park to walk the trails, connect with nature, learn about the local indigenous story and to take in the breathtaking view from the lookout.
CFDC was able to support this project by contributing funds towards the rental of the equipment needed to implement the trail expansion plan. Once the plan was approved by the MNR & archaeological study completed, a group of volunteers from Kijicho Manito Madouskarini Algonquin First Nation and Hastings Destination Trails Inc. (HDTI) were able to work together to complete approximately 4 km of new trail. We are excited to share the new trail when the park reopens in May 2025.
