Tweed & Company Theatre

Details
Published: 11 July 2022

Tweed & Company Theatre announced an exciting new expansion for their 2022 season. As of January 2, 2022, the organization assumed operations of the Bancroft Village Playhouse with plans to return this venue to a true community hub and a vibrant centre for live theatre. With this in mind, the organization requested support through the Community Futures Development Corporation of North & Central Hastings and South Algonquin (C.F.D.C.) Local Initiative Program to support a portion of the costs to develop and implement an enhanced marketing plan to showcase the new venue. The goal of the marketing plan was to create the initial awareness of the season, and to establish & grow a large social media following early. They have held 9 events as of July 11th (including their first sold-out show), and 2 summer camps and currently have 1895 followers of The Village Playhouse Bancroft's Facebook page!

To see what the Tweed & Company Theatre has happening or to purchase tickets, visit their website at: www.tweedandcompany.com or follow any of their 3 locations (The Village Playhouse Bancroft, Tweed & Co. Theatre or The Marble Arts Centre) on Facebook.

Harvest Hastings

Harvest Hastings is grateful for the support of the CFDC of North & Central Hastings and South Algonquin! With the funding provided, our "New Connections, New Roots" project has been a successful initiative that continues to grow! We created four regional agri-tourism brochures for the vast region of Hastings County that help connect consumers directly with local producers. One thousand copies of each brochure were printed and distributed throughout the region. The brochures are also downloadable from our website. Visitors can connect directly to the Google Maps application to get driving directions and plan their routes for the four regions. We've also had a great response from the distribution of our custom seed packages at our local farmers' markets! Better than a business card and filled with seeds for four different locally-sourced heirloom veggies, these packages encourage people to Get Growing and Connect with Harvest Hastings. We'll be at the Hastings County Plowing Match in August to continue handing out our packages, brochures, and magazines, and help the community grow together!
